No food is permitted in the Bio-Medical Library
We need to keep library materials, computer equipment, and furnishings in good condition for you and future users. Food and food residue, such as oils and sugars, attract rodents and insects.
Drinks in permanent, spill-proof containers such as pop-up sports bottles, recloseable coffee mugs, or plastic pop bottles with twist on-off caps are permitted while seated at study tables or carrels only. Prohibited containers include aluminum cans, or paper or Styrofoam take-out cups with a plastic lid, or any permanent cup without a lid.
Permanent, recloseable containers are available for sale at the bookstore and other retail outlets on and off-campus.
Drinks are not allowed near computers or any audio-visual equipment, at the copy center or the journal or book stacks. Do not bring drinks in any kind of container into these areas or other areas of the library that are signed as "No Food or Drink."
Bio-Medical Library staff want to provide you with the best possible service in comfortable surroundings. Enforcing the policy takes staff time away from their work - providing service to you!
The Library reserves the right to suspend this policy for special library events.
