Jim Beattie, MLIS, is an associate librarian and Head of Liaison, Education and Interdisciplinary Services.  He received his MLIS from the University of Texas at Austin.  Prior to working at the Bio-Medical Library Jim held a faculty appointment, as an Educational Services Librarian, at NYU School of Medicine and more recently was a Senior Knowledge Consultant at Allina Hospitals & Clinics in the Twin Cities.  Jim is a distinguished member of the Medical Library Association's Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) and a 2007 Fellow of the the Frye Leadership Institute.  He has a personal and professional interest in evidence-based practice, particularly helping practicing healthcare professionals access the best available information in support of their patient care decisions.
